As part of our Observant Masonry series, we are delighted to haveShawn
Eyer, esteemed Masonic
Scholar, presenting “The Earthly and Celestial Temple.” Thetheme for the
month is “The Return
of a Sense of Awe to Our Ceremonies,” and Bro. Eyer will discusshow our
lodge can and should
represent King Solomon’s temple—and what that can symbolize inour
contemplations.
Shawn Eyer researches the history, ritual, iconography, symbolism,and
philosophy of Craft Freemasonry.
Professionally, he is the Managing Director of Communications andEducation
of the George
Washington Masonic National Memorial in Alexandria, Virginia. He isa Past
Master of
Academia Lodge No. 847, California’s first lodge of TraditionalObservance.
He now quarries
with the brethren of The Harvard Lodge in Massachusetts, the oldest
university lodge in the
United States.
